That’s always the hard part! I have 6 books published so far (and many more on the way). I’m not sure which one I would I submit. Fortunately, I don’t have to worry about that…lol! I’m looking forward to reading your book. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My self-pub children’s book does not currently have any illustrations, no entry for me? As per guideline #5, right?

  4. Thank you again for this chance to have my book recognized. I have just sent you the ebook version of My Monster and Me, and hope that you like it as much as I did writing it. Within the next couple of days it will be available on Amazon and Kindle. Edward M. Riley

I extended the deadline to January 7, 2014. It’s a very busy time of year and I realized I should give folks a little time after the holidays. I’ve gotten a lot of great eBooks and print books and am starting to read and evaluate them. Please tweet and post this article! Thank you and Happy New Year!

Hi Aviva I am so glad to learn about your work. I have published two children’s books and am currently finalizing my 3rd book. I would have loved to join your contest but my books are 24 pages and have more than 1500 words.
This is all a new experience for me and have much more to learn. I need advice on making my hard cover books into ebooks.
Thank you so much for all your wonderful advice and suggestions that you post. What a big heart:)!

Thanks for the kind words, Melba ๐Ÿ™‚ You’ve given me an idea for an article in my “Birth of a Children’s Book” blog series on publishing an eBook versus a print book. I’ll add that to my list of topics.

  8. What a great way to start off the New Year! Thank you for giving fellow authors this opportunity.

I just emailed you my submission for my third book, “Guess What is at the Zoo?”

    Hi Aviva,

This is such a great idea! YES, self-published children’s books measure up and merit more recognition. I hope you received the my Polarity Bear book and look forward to learning the results of the contest.

    • avivagittle avivagittle

Hi, Sue: I did get your book (just emailed you confirmation). Next year, I have to remember to tell those authors mailing print copies to also email me so I can readily confirm receipt. The Gittle List will be posted by the end of January!
